(About Us)

Dept. of Soil Sci. and Plant Nutr.

In the department, education and various researches are carried out on soil chemistry, soil physics, soil degradation, soil plant water analysis, soil microbiology, the relationship between environmental pollution and agriculture, reclamation of saline alkaline soils, plant nutrition and fertilization in meadow pasture and forage crops at undergraduate and graduate levels.

Our department has adopted a modern and scientific style of education with its academic staff members who have achieved success at both national and international levels. A soil scientist is a person who interprets soils and soil-related data, not only in terms of agricultural production, but also taking how it affects environmental quality and human life into consideration. Our department aims to explain soil awareness, which is an absolutely necessary vital source in the urban, agricultural and natural ecosystem, and to deal with education, training and research on the productivity of agriculture, eco-sensitive management practices and the protection of natural resources.

The graduates of the department can work both in the private sector and in related public institutions. Together with our academic staff and students, we will try to find solutions to agricultural and soil problems, primarily on a regional and country basis and in the world, with a perspective that respects and values people and nature.
